As I begin to write the 4-match test series is at 1-1.
So, tomorrow will be the day when the final test will begin. It is quite an evenly poised series. But if you ask me it was the Indian team who has shown resilience and fight with more courage and sound technique and skills.
The Series started with Ishant and Rohit's unavailability. Well and then Shami and Virat Kohli came back after the first test.
The first test match and 36 all-out. Can you imagine you get good balls and you nick them all? I mean it was more than Indian batsmen doing anything wrong but the movement of a ball and the usual superb bowling lines from Cummins and Hazelwood. Australian bowling attack is quite strong with 3 pacers and a Lyon.
Now Virat and Shami are back. Shaw and Agarwal are struggling. Cummins is bowling superb lines to Pujara. Here comes the second test.
We are at MCG. Ajinkya Rahane as captain, adds Gill, Jadeja, Pant, and Siraj to the playing XI. Australian first innings get over on 195. Then came the brilliant hundred by Captain and 57 by Jadeja. Bowlers did the job in the second innings by restricting them to 200. But wait now Umesh is injured. Indians made a stunning comeback and Team members post a photo where they are posing their backs against the walls. Epic.
For the third test, we are in Sydney. Australia put on a good total in the first. I will fast forward to the fifth day. 97 Overs to bat for a draw. Rahane gets out early. Comes in Pant and plays stroke-filled 97 to at a point believing that 407 can be the gettable target. Pujara gets out. Jadeja is waiting inside the dressing with the fractured thumb not sure if he can bat. Ashwin and Vihari are at the crease and there are Cummins, Hazelwood, Lyon, and Starc. Will they bat on for about 43 overs? or will it be a 2-1?
And then two keep batting. They took the blows on the body. With injuries to both of them, they bat on with courage and resilience. Meanwhile, we had heard that if a batsman doesn't rotate the strike often gets out to a bowler. is it true, well, not here. Because Vihari can't run so don't have a choice but to play over by over. What a match!
Now, There is no Jadeja, Bumrah for the last match. Concerns over Vihari and Ashwin as well. Gabba is the fortress of Australia. What do we have now to get amazed with. Only time will tell.
